The May 18 Memorial Foundation Invited Gwangju Human Rights Award Winner Joanna Carino (Philippines) for Special Lecture GNMP Students ![]() The May 18 Memorial Foundation was invited the Gwangju Human Rights Prize winner, Joanna Carino (Philippines), to give special lectures during the fall semester from October 14th to 16th, 2019 to GNMP students. Joanna Carrillo is the founder and adviser of the Cordillera Peoples Alliance and is currently advocating and campaigning for the human rights of indigenous Filipinos. Joanna Carino shared the legitimacy of the struggle for indigenous peoples land ownership and the mode of struggle for the indigenous peoples rights with the Foundation. The GNMP program is part of an international program to foster international human rights activists started with the agreement between Chonnam National University, Gwangju City Hall and the May 18 Memorial Foundation. |
