Pre-registration for GDF 2024

We invite you to the Gwangju Democracy Forum 2024.

The Gwangju Democracy Forum (GDF) is an annual international event organized by the May 18 Foundation to commemorate and inherit the spirit of the May 18 Democratic Uprising in 1980. In 2024, the Forum aims to envision a better future in Korea as well as globally by engaging issues related to democracy, human rights, the climate crisis, poverty, and inequality.

The GDF will take place for three days from 16 to 17 May (Thursday to Friday) 2024 during the Gwangju Democracy Week.

1. Duration: May 16 to 18(Thursday to Saturday) 2024

  - May 18(optional): 44th Anniversary of the May 18 Democratic Uprising National Ceremony and Gwangju Prize for 

    Human Rights Awards Ceremony

2. Venue: The May 18 Memorial Cultural Center, Gwangju, South Korea
