The May 18 Memorial Foundation had a meeting with the UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion of truth, justice, reparation, and guarantees of non-recurrence, Mr. Fabian Salvioli, on Sunday, June 12. The May 18 Associations, Civil Society Organizations, Gwangju Metropolitan City, etc. attended this meeting. Its subject was the current situation of Transitional Justice since the democratic movement in Gwangju rose in the 1980s. These contents, which Salvioli has assessed, will be reported to the Human Right Council next September 2023.
