We are pleased to share with you that our international interns started their brand-new life in Gwanju. Mr. Kee Do, who is from Burma, has worked in the Foundation for Education and Development in Thailand for 2 years and Ms. Szu-Yu Yen majored in Korean study in the National Chengchi University in Taiwan. It is their first time to visit Gwanju and they will work in the May 18 Memorial Foundation for 10 months.
The education training had been conducted successfully during 6th-12th March. They visited the May 18th National Cemetery to undersand the Gwanju Uprising more deeply with the help of outstanding "May Guide", informing them of the victims' stories with sorrow. Additionally, through the "May Road" tour, they visited the Provincial Hall, Chonnam National University and May 18 Liberty Park to comprehend the process of May18 Uprising thoroughly.
To accommodate the new surroundings as early as possible, the life training in Korea is crucial and necessary as well. Thus, from public transportation to Korean class registration in the GIC (Gwangju International Center), they were guided by the enthusiastic volunteers of the May18 Memorial Foundation.
They've started their work in the foundation and meaningful life in Gwangju!
