We are pleased to sharewith you, we successfully conducted May 18 Peace jam Ambassadors educationprogram on 17 November 2012 on the topic of All about Burma, the struggle forthe Democracy “Courage to Act” ,Story about Aung San Suu Kyi. This is a part of our regular schedule of May 18Peacejam Ambassadors education program , also this one is the formally lasteducation session for this year.
We divided the program in two session
² First session is all about Burma
² Second session was preparation time for presentation which is going to be presents by May 18 Ambassadors in differenttopic on December 1, 2012
we started theprogram with game, named ; life is so short, this game is allabout realization to all of us,really a life is very short so we haveto be sincere to achieve what we want in our life and try to think about thesociety also at least for few times of your entire life, after that we watched some videos related to Burma andAung San Suu Kyi’s life and short power point presentation in same topic byDeepak Prasad Bashyal, International Intern, then we divided the participantsin three groups for the group discussion and topic for the discussion was “What is the democracy for you?”
In second sessionagain we divided the participants in four groups and each group has chosen thedifferent topic for their presentation
Group First :Breaking the Cycle of Violence
Group Two:Breaking the Cycle of Violence
Group Three: Problemof Racism
Group Four: EqualRights for Women
Overall the programwas very effective because all the participants got the opportunity to learnabout Burma, Aung San Suu Kyi and Burmese people’s struggle for Democracy, atthe same time they tried to find out the definition of Democracy on their ownviews. And at the last session they discussed in different topic for theirpresentation.
So we can say May18 Peacejam Ambassadors Education Program was very effective and meaningfulprogram to aware and motivate the youth about the problems which we are facingin our daily life and which was created by us. Most important part of thesession was all the participants realized that if we really want to do somethingfor the community then we can do it and they said they will spread out this gainedknowledge in their school, and community.
