Some memories of past are horrific but it should keep blazing to defeat the tyrannyand convey the truth to a future generation that how their ancestors democratically and courageously fought against their tyranny and defeated him through democratic resistance in 1980. The May 18 Democratic Gwangju Uprising is astruggle against the tranny and it is the cornerstone of modern democracy inKorea. This year May 18 Memorial Foundation commemorated the 39thanniversary of the May 18 uprising and among all the Red Festa is highlydiverse. It is diverse as it involves the youth to preserve and commemorate thesacrifices of the martyrs and passing reminiscences of the May 18 Democratic spirit to the future generation of Gwangju, Korea.
The May 18 Memorial Foundation is the heart of all these events and this year Foundation organized mega-boothand perform the street theatres for viewers. The Foundation volunteers recreatethe scene of the May 18 Democratic uprising. The youth actors perform genuinelyand received full attention and commendation from the viewers. Besides, theFoundation also arranged the history quiz, songs, pictures of the May 18Democratic Uprising and distributed the gifts among the winners.
Therefore, the Foundation is fully acknowledge this truth and it is passing the memories of the May 18 Gwangju Democratic Spirit to their future generation, sothey understand the Spirit the May 18 Gwangju Democratic Movement 1980. The May18 Memorial Foundation is preparing and equipping their present and future generation with May 18 spirit and passing this spirit in the form of Red Festato them. So, the present generation and youth could stand against their tranny at any time; who could ambush their democracy and human rights and restrict their freedom and liberty of Korea.
