Global NGO Master‘s Program (GNMP) - Full Scholarship
The May 18 Memorial Foundation and the May 18 Institute at ChonnamUniversity offer a two-year master’s program for Global NGO activists with fullscholarship, The GNMP welcomes individuals who are passionately engaged withhuman rights, democracy, and peace and are eager to become professional NGO workersand leaders in Asia Africa.
Being launched in 2016 as a theoretical and practical educational platformfor NGO activists, the program aims to educate global NGO workers who work inthe fields of social enterprises, international relations, social services, artand cultural institutions, and advocacy and volunteer organizations in Asia andAfrica. We encourage anyone with passion to bring positive changes to theirsocieties through human rights activism, democratization, local communitydevelopment, building solidarity across borders, and humanitarian acts.
The program also aims to share the May 18 Spirit and to expand knowledgeabout the MAY 18 Gwangju Democratization Uprising. During the school yearsstudents will have an excellent chance to know and trace the May 18 Spirit andthe history of the democracy movement of Korea as well. We believe that throughNGO workers’ global networking and solidarity across borders democratic civilsociety will become a reality.
We provide a multidisciplinary curriculum, integrating academic andpractitioners’ training. The curriculum covers a wide range of current issuesfrom both regional and global perspectives, all of them taught in English. TheGNMP is intended for people who have been contributing or have the potential tocontribute to leading social progress in Asia-Africa. GNMP offers intensive andflexible preparation for those who seek leadership and skills for a more justand equitable social development in Asia-Africa. For this purpose the programprovides all the foreign students with a full scholarship which includesinternational airfares, room & board, tuitions, and book costs.
